Create your account
Free, with a confirmed mail address and your Steam account linked - servers know you by it. Create one
Install
Run the installer - it installs for your Windows user, no admin rights needed. With the ZIP instead: extract it into a folder of its own, not into the game folder.
Start Open Road MP
From the Start menu or the desktop (ZIP: openroadmp.exe). It brings itself up to date, starts Euro Truck Simulator 2 through Steam and opens the server list.

- Steam running
- A free Open Road MP account with your Steam account linked
Host your own server
Extract it, set name, password and rules in server.cfg, start it. The example gamemode freeroam runs right away - copy it to write your own. A server key from your account page puts it on the server list.
Server for Windows
For server owners: your own server with the example gamemode.

- Node.js 22.18 or newer for gamemodes
- Port 42420 open (UDP and TCP)

Server for Linux
